The Fabrica Communication Research Centre in Italy was conceived in 1991 with the aim of exploring the arts as a catalyst for social change.
Created by United Colors of Benetton the studio produces a wide variety of global projects as well as work for commercial clients, governments, NGOs and the cultural sector. Working as a group-based studio, Fabrica is part mentoring program, part production studio, and part think tank, drawing talented designers from across the globe to successfully mix different cultures, talents and issues into projects.
Originally created by photographer Oliviero Toscani and art director Tibor Kalman to show the world to the world, the message has remained the same: diversity is good.
